Foam aluminum coil is a kind of porous foam metal material, In 1956, Elist successfully created foam aluminum coil ding to Sosnik's idea. Because of the difficulty in process control, its development is limited. As people gradually realize that this is a new high-tech material is very important, it has broad application prospects, increasing investment, the preparation technology of great progress, at the same time, the development in the application in the field also made a major breakthrough.



The main preparation methods of foam aluminum coil can be divided into three categories: (1) liquid production process; (2) solid state production process; (3) electrodeposition technology. One of the more mature technology, and a method for the preparation of aluminum foam coil is volume flow casting method and foaming method. In this paper, multi arc ion plating technology is used to produce foam aluminum coil, in order to produce large area, quantitative structure of foam aluminum coil, and try to reduce the cost to lower.

The production is carried out on the four arc coating equipment. The substrate material is polyurethane foam, 1 meters wide and 2 mm thick. The process parameters such as intracranial vacuum, argon flow, negative bias voltage, magnetic field intensity and working current are discussed in detail. The optimum technological parameters are obtained. The process is as follows: pretreatment - charging - vacuum - arc - adjustment of process parameters - out - after treatment.

The process parameters are as follows: working current 75A, focusing coil working current 0.6A, voltage stabilizing current 0.5A, negative bias voltage -120V. Foam aluminum coil performance: thermal conductivity 0.996W/m, sound absorption coefficient average 0.4, electromagnetic shielding performance comparable to copper plate, the use of multi arc ion coating technology to produce foam aluminum coil is also very low cost.
